The Gateway Fleets EV depot in Riverside, California is now operational, according to the company. Gateway said it built the new facility in just weeks, marking a milestone in its expansion strategy. The site sits only five minutes from key FedEx stations in Rialto.
The depot gives FedEx Contracted Service Providers (CSPs) access to commercial electric vehicles (EVs) and high-speed charging. Gateway said its Riverside facility delivers a turnkey solution with cost predictability, operational readiness, and infrastructure already in place.
Private Capital Powers Rapid EV Infrastructure Buildout
In 2024, global private markets investment firm Partners Group acquired a controlling stake in Gateway Fleets. The capital infusion is fueling the development of new depots like the one in Riverside.
“This site proves there is another way. We’re building EV infrastructure now with long-term private capital, so contractors don’t have to wait for government timelines or consolidation to play out,” said Jamie Miller, Chief Revenue Officer at Gateway Fleets. “We’re helping CSPs avoid large capital outlays and free up capital for their businesses while giving them the tools to plan for long-term growth. With predictable costs, infrastructure, and no ownership risk, operators can scale with confidence instead of reacting to uncertainty.”
“We’re not just building depots. We’re building the backbone for the next era of delivery logistics,” said Bruce Pflaum, CEO and Founder of Gateway Fleets. “Our goal is to remove complexity from fleet electrification and give operators access to dependable infrastructure they can plan around. This Riverside launch proves that with the right model, electrification can be simple, fast, and built around the realities of delivery. It allows operators to stay focused on their core business. Without getting bogged down by charging logistics or capital decisions.”
How the Gateway Fleets EV Depot Benefits CSPs
Gateway Fleets said the Riverside depot supports contractors with an operating model designed to remove financial and operational barriers:
- No upfront cost: EVs, charging, and maintenance are bundled into a flat monthly lease;
- Immediate savings: CSPs can lower operating costs by 18–28% from day one;
- Built for delivery: Fast charging, driver rest areas with amenities, and strategic proximity to FedEx stations;
- Proven momentum: One of several Gateway Fleets EV depots launching in 2025.
More Gateway Fleets EV Depots Coming in 2025
Gateway Fleets said it is moving quickly, with additional depot launches and electric trucks coming soon. Its model allows CSPs to electrify without financial risk or operational disruption.
