Burns Engineering said it is expanding its power and utilities practice by adding three energy industry leaders, Darrell Widner, P.E., Ernie Leaf, P.E., PMP, and Patrick Eddy, P.E, and promoting Philip Gonski, P.E. Burns said its power and utilities team features several of the industry’s foremost experts in electric vehicle supply equipment, district energy, distributed energy resources and complex electrification strategies.
To date, the team has planned, designed or constructed more than two gigawatts of sustainable or resilient energy projects, including electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects.
“Achieving large energy users’ decarbonization and resilience goals requires an experienced management team with a proven track record leading the design and implementation of multi-discipline, complex electrification and utility modernization programs,” Burns’ vice president Mike Walton, P.E., said. “With our team’s latest additions, Burns’ clients gain access to even greater depth of expertise and lessons learned from the country’s state-of-the-art district energy and microgrid projects.”
