May Mobility revealed expanded offerings at CES 2025 by partnering with Tecnobus, a European electric minibus manufacturer. The collaboration introduces the autonomous electric minibus platform. It is intended to give fleet operators and transit agencies more flexibility in domestic and international markets.
Features of the Autonomous Electric Minibus
Tecnobus and May Mobility designed the electric autonomous minibus to seat up to 30 passengers, ensuring wheelchair accessibility and sustainability. May Mobility now supports urban transit, corporate campuses, airports, and planned communities. This electric minibus runs on swappable batteries, which reduce downtime and energy waste, while reaching speeds of 45 MPH. It also meets international standards, allowing deployment in Europe, Canada, and the U.S.
“This collaboration combines Tecnobus’ electric mobility expertise with May Mobility’s cutting-edge autonomy to deliver a transformative transit solution,” said Paolo Marini, CEO of Tecnobus. “This new platform represents a significant evolution, perfectly aligned with the values of sustainability, reliability, and vision that Tecnobus has upheld for over 30 years, combining our expertise in electric mobility with their technological leadership in autonomous driving.”
Autonomous Technology Driving Innovation
May Mobility’s patented Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology powers the minibus, enabling it to process real-time data and adapt to complex driving conditions. The company will debut the first autonomous minibuses in early 2026 and plans deployments later that year.
The minibus integrates into May Mobility’s fleet alongside the Toyota Sienna Autono-MaaS platform. By expanding its portfolio, May Mobility ensures scalability and adaptability for different use cases, from ride-hailing to high-capacity transit.
“Our partnership with Tecnobus shows that we’re serious about expanding transit access and reducing urban congestion,” said Edwin Olson, CEO and founder of May Mobility. “It’s a strong example of how doing the right thing for communities can also be great for growing our business.”
Expanding Global Reach with Tecnobus
Tecnobus’ parent company, ICAPGROUP, supports May Mobility’s global expansion with infrastructure spanning 27 countries and over 1,200 sites. The partnership strengthens May Mobility’s ability to bring sustainable and accessible autonomous solutions to international markets, the company said.
