Skycharger announced that its Skycharger EV network in the West Coast Highway Corridor has reached 500,000 charging sessions. This milestone highlights the growing adoption of EVs and Skycharger’s role in providing the infrastructure to support transportation on the West Coast, the company said.
“Reaching the 500,000-session milestone is a testament to the rapid growth of the EV movement and the essential infrastructure that drives it,” said Johannes Copeland, COO at Skycharger. “This achievement highlights the increasing demand for charging stations and the value of strategic locations.”
Environmental and Community Impact
Since 2021, Skycharger’s EV network has supported over 41 million miles of EV travel. This has helped drivers avoid 12,650 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
Skycharger also engages with local communities, supporting workforce development and collaborating with nonprofits. In turn, the company said this enhances the economic and social benefits of EV charging infrastructure.
Skycharger EV Network Expansion and Future Plans
The network increased from 200,000 charging sessions in April 2023 to 500,000. Skycharger said this demonstrates the effectiveness of Skycharger’s upgrades, including faster charging speeds and improved reliability.
In 2024, Skycharger expanded its network by adding new stations and introducing Skycharger-branded stations. Looking forward, Skycharger plans to double its charging capacity in California by the end of 2025. The company has been selected to receive National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding to support its California expansion and is extending its reach into neighboring states. All future stations will carry the Skycharger brand. The company is exploring new partnerships and advanced technologies to continue providing top-tier charging solutions.
