SWTCH Energy, a multifamily EV charging infrastructure company, will manage 2,500 EV charging stations across 136 properties in Washington State. This initiative will provide thousands of residents with charging access, SWTCH said.
“The transition to electric vehicles shouldn’t be limited by where you live,” said Jeremy Cohen, Director of Real Estate Partnerships at SWTCH. “This project builds on our track record of delivering charging experiences for residents while providing property managers with the tools they need.”
Investing in Multifamily EV Charging Infrastructure
The Washington Department of Commerce’s Electric Vehicle Charging Program has committed $25.6 million. This will support Greystar’s EV charging deployment across multifamily properties. Wallbox provides the charging hardware, while COIL manages installation services.
Expanding EV Access for Multifamily Residents
With EV adoption increasing in Washington State, expanding EV charging infrastructure has become essential, SWITCH said. Many multifamily residents face challenges in accessing home charging, making this deployment a significant step toward transportation electrification.
“Working with SWTCH on this initiative in Washington State was a natural choice,” said Gavin Shearer, Construction Manager at Greystar. “This collaboration has made it possible to deliver reliable charging services to our residents as we work to make sustainable transportation accessible to more communities.”
