Toyota has introduced its hydrogen-powered Mirai, which delivers an EPA-estimated 402-mile driving range. The 2025 Toyota Mirai specs include a hydrogen fuel-cell system that combines onboard hydrogen with outside air to generate electricity. Toyota said it will offer the Mirai exclusively in the XLE grade, equipped with features like a panoramic view monitor, parking assist, and digital key access.
Safety Sense 3.0 remains standard and delivers driver-assist features to enhance safety on the road. Toyota plans to release the 2025 Mirai in spring with an MSRP of $51,795.
Hydrogen Drives the 2025 Toyota Mirai Specs
The Mirai is in essence a “plug-less” electric vehicle. It creates electricity on demand using hydrogen and emits only water. The hydrogen fuel cell produces an electric current stored in a lithium-ion battery. That energy powers an AC synchronous electric motor that drives the rear wheels.
Toyota said it designed the intake system to purify incoming air and reduce cabin noise. Regenerative braking further improves efficiency by recharging the battery while driving.
Platform, Suspension, and Ride Quality
Toyota said it built the Mirai on its GA-L rear-wheel-drive platform. The platform accommodates dual hydrogen tanks beneath the rear seats, optimizing balance and interior space.
Toyota engineered the chassis for stability using multilink suspension, laser screw welding, and structural adhesives. Active Cornering Assist and Hill Start Assist Control come standard for added driver support.
