AISIN announced that its eAxle will drive Suzuki’s first mass-produced battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA. Developed in collaboration with DENSO and BluE Nexus Corporation, this system delivers high power and efficiency, AISIN said. Suzuki said it designed the e VITARA to combine a modern look with a BEV powertrain.

The company designed the new eAxle with a small motor and inverter to maximize power density and performance, it said. BluE Nexus Automotive India, BluE’s Indian subsidiary, will supply the product. Manufacturing will take place in India, aligning with Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited’s production of the e VITARA to support global BEV expansion.
