Cadillac has partnered with Continental to equip the LYRIQ-V electric SUV with 22-inch PremiumContact 6 tires. Cadillac selected these tires for their ability to deliver dynamic, responsive driving while preserving safety and comfort. With this move, the Cadillac LYRIQ-V tires now feature a globally approved original equipment (OE) option.

Continental PremiumContact 6 Handling and Safety

Continental said it designed the PremiumContact 6 to offer high cornering stability and fast steering response, even at higher speeds. The tread ensures strong grip, which allows for power transfer to the road. The circumferential groove design enhances control and precision steering. Engineers developed a special silica rubber compound to support short braking distances on both wet and dry roads. These tires also reduce rolling resistance, which helps extend the LYRIQ-V’s electric range.

Continental Optimizes for EV Load and Comfort

Continental focused the tire’s design on low rolling resistance, quiet operation, and high mileage, it said. The engineers increased the tire’s load index to support the heavier weight of electric vehicles like the LYRIQ-V. Because of the battery, EVs require more durable and supportive tires. Continental now supplies tires to 18 of the 20 highest-volume EV manufacturers worldwide, including the new Cadillac LYRIQ-V.
