Portable sanitary facilities company Diamond Environmental hosted an electric truck showcase event on Dec. 12. The event took place at its San Marcos dispatch facility. The event featured four new Class 4-5 medium-duty, battery-electric RIZON trucks, engineered by Daimler Truck. The trucks were funded through the Short-Haul Zero-Emission Truck Pilot Project. The project is administered by the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District.

Attendees Experience RIZON Trucks Firsthand

Attendees participated in a ride-and-drive session with Diamond Environmental drivers. RIZON says the session allowed attendees to experience the technology, safety features, and driver comfort of the RIZON trucks. They tested the all-electric, medium-duty commercial vehicle, explored the touchscreen navigation, and tried the ergonomically designed seating.

City Officials Attend the Event

City officials from San Marcos attended the event. Officials included Mayor Rebecca Jones, Hunter McDonald, and Ed Musgrove. Tess Sangster and Travis Arciaga also attended, along with RIZON USA staff and Diamond Environmental.

Flexible Truck Designs for Sanitary Facility Transport

Diamond Environmental selected the cabover stakebed/flatbed style for two trucks. The trucks offer flexibility for transporting portable toilet facilities, sinks, and other sanitary supplies. Fast charging options minimize downtime for daily delivery routes. These trucks achieve a range of up to 160 miles on a single charge.
