GMC revealed the updated 2026 GMC HUMMER EV with new off-road features and faster acceleration. Owners can now activate King Crab off-road rear-steer mode through an over-the-air update. The Carbon Fiber Edition Pickup hits 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric trucks on the market.
GMC Enhances HUMMER EV Off-Road Capabilities
GMC introduced King Crab mode as a standard feature on the 2X and 3X Pickup and SUV trims. This advanced rear-steer system increases off-road maneuverability. When drivers activate King Crab mode, the rear wheels turn faster than the front wheels. This helps the HUMMER EV navigate tight trails and rocky terrain. GMC will also deliver this feature to 2022–2025 models via an over-the-air update.
Carbon Fiber Edition
The new Carbon Fiber Edition for the 2026 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV brings bold styling and performance, GMC said. GMC limited production to exclusive 3X trims. The Carbon Fiber Edition includes:
- 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels;
- All-Terrain tires;
- Carbon fiber inserts in mirror caps and skid plate;
- Black approach shield and emblems;
- Black power tonneau cover (Pickup only);
- 22-inch carbon fiber spare wheel (SUV only).
This version also features a 24-module battery and 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.8 seconds.
GMC Adds Tech, Charging, and Ride Quality Improvements
GMC built the 3X Pickup to deliver 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb-ft of torque. The 2026 model gains optimized damper tuning for better ride quality.
The HUMMER EV will offer bidirectional charging to power other vehicles or homes. Super Cruise—GMC’s hands-free driving system—adds features like Hands on Lane Change Assist (HOLCA) and Lane Change for Route.
