The Tire Industry Association (TIA), through its Electric Vehicle Advisory Council (EVAC), released a detailed EV service glossary to help tire dealers, technicians, and policymakers better understand electric and hybrid vehicle technology. EVAC aims to bridge knowledge gaps across the industry and ensure safe vehicle service through clear, shared terminology, TIA said.
EV Service Glossary Supports Technicians and Policymakers
EVAC created the EV service glossary to guide service professionals, lawmakers, and regulators in understanding EV and hybrid technical terms. This glossary allows tire dealers and service centers to use consistent language. It also helps policymakers make informed decisions when crafting EV-related legislation.
“This glossary will be a valuable tool for both industry professionals and policymakers,” said Mark Ferner, Senior Manager, Technical Operations for Bridgestone Retail Operations and chair of TIA’s Electric Vehicle Advisory Council (EVAC).
Improving EV Safety Through Education and Clear Terminology
EVAC continues to identify and promote safe EV servicing procedures through education and training. The glossary makes technical concepts more accessible to all stakeholders, TIA said.
