Volvo Trucks North America will showcase its latest technologies at ACT Expo 2025, held at the Anaheim Convention Center from April 28 – May 1. Volvo will feature the all-new Volvo VNL, which it said was designed for fuel efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This truck also operates on renewable diesel. Volvo Trucks will emphasize its electromobility leadership by presenting the Volvo VNR Electric.
New Volvo VNL and Autonomous Tech Take Center Stage
Volvo Trucks will display its Volvo VNL 860 flagship sleeper and a Volvo VNR Electric truck currently used by Penske Truck Leasing. The company will also exhibit the Volvo VNL Autonomous, a self-driving truck already in commercial service in Texas. The “World of Volvo” themed booth will highlight technology and equipment from Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment, and Volvo Autonomous Solutions. The manufacturer said this supports the company’s “Together Towards Zero” decarbonization strategy.
“We are proud to showcase our total transportation solutions. ‘Together Towards Zero’ reflects the Volvo vision toward a safer and more sustainable future. We continue to move towards our ambition of 100% zero emissions transport by 2040,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president, VTNA. “This collective commitment across the Volvo Group is essential to accelerating the transition to safer and cleaner transportation solutions.”
Volvo ACT Expo 2025: Next-Gen Powertrains
Volvo said it engineered the VNL to support various propulsion technologies. That includes battery-electric, fuel cells, and internal combustion engines using renewable fuels like hydrogen. The truck introduces active safety features and North America’s first 24-volt electrical architecture. Volvo said it also equips the new VNL with connectivity features that help reduce ownership costs and boost customer satisfaction.
Volvo VNL Autonomous Pushes Boundaries of Innovation
At ACT Expo 2025, Volvo will also present its VNL Autonomous. This is a fully redundant autonomous truck built for industrial-scale production and ready for integration with self-driving technologies.
