Yokohama Rubber will supply its ADVAN Sport EV tires as original equipment for the LEAPMOTOR C16 SUV. Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology (LEAPMOTOR) launched this electric SUV in China in June 2024. The C16 features 245/45R21 104V XL tires on the front and 255/45R21 106V XL tires on the rear.

ADVAN Sport EV Tires Deliver Performance for Electric Vehicles

According to Yokohama, it designed the ADVAN Sport EV tires as ultra-high-performance summer tires for premium EVs. The design is based on the ADVAN Sport V107, originally developed for high-performance cars. Engineers optimized the tire for EVs by incorporating a specialized compound that reduces rolling resistance and a tread pattern that improves drainage, Yokohama said. These features enhance energy efficiency and wet performance.

Each tire displays Yokohama’s proprietary “E+” mark, indicating its performance for electrified vehicles.

LEAPMOTOR C16 Combines Comfort and Technology

LEAPMOTOR said it built the C16 as a six-passenger SUV focused on comfort and making it ideal for families. As the company’s flagship model, it features the proprietary “Four-Leaf Clover” electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture, which is said integrates and controls multiple vehicle systems.
