InductEV announced that Tim DeMoss has joined the wireless charging company as its first director of port & intermodal strategies. He joined after 17 years with the Port of Los Angeles, where he most recently served as an environmental affairs officer for the air quality section in the Port’s environmental management division.

In his role at the former, he managed projects that involved reducing air emissions from vehicles that move freight in and out of the Port. His section was responsible for procuring large grant funding awards for zero and near-zero-emission cargo handling equipment, on-road trucks and locomotives at the Port and throughout the region.

“As more port operators, freight terminals, and fleet owners and operators adopt our inductive, on-route wireless charging solution, Tim’s deep knowledge and operational expertise will be invaluable for ensuring the success of these deployments,” M. David Dealy, InductEV’s president and chief commercial officer, said. “We look forward to having him join our team at this propitious time for the electrification of the commercial transport sector.”

InductEV said its technology holds 18 patents with 23 more pending. Its AI-managed solution charges vehicles while on-route, which gives it tremendous environmental advantages over diesel-fueled trucks and traditional conductive (plug-in) EV charging models, InductEV said. To date, the company has delivered over 1.5 GWh of energy to customers across the U.S. and the EU through its wireless charging network – the equivalent of saving 650 metric tons of CO2.
