International Motors has expanded its electric vehicle lineup by introducing the all-electric Class 8 regional haul tractor, the International eRH Series. The company designed this new Class 8 electric tractor for heavy-duty regional and drayage fleets. It offers configurations in 4×2 and 6×4 axles and delivers up to 300 miles of range, depending on battery capacity and application.
“We are excited to add the eRH to serve International’s Class 8 battery-electric customers,” said Justina Morosin, senior vice president, Sales and Field Operations, International. “This new solution perfectly complements our current battery-electric vehicle lineup. Our focus is on providing a seamless journey, ensuring a smooth customer experience every step of the way.”
Built for Productivity and Visibility
International based the eRH on the proven diesel-powered RH Series platform and optimized it for local and regional haul productivity. Engineers designed it with a 113-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab measurement to improve forward visibility and added industry-leading wheelbases for tight turning radii. The Bendix Fusion integrated driver assistance system boosts road safety. Designers placed switches conveniently within reach and provided ample cab space for comfort.
Class 8 Electric Tractor Maximizes Efficiency and Payload
The eRH Series includes lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery options ranging from 300kWh to 500kWh usable capacity. This high energy density in a compact layout reduces curb weight and increases payload potential.
Customers can choose between tandem and single eAxle configurations that simplify the drivetrain and improve efficiency. The truck offers three levels of driver-selectable regenerative braking, helping extend range and allowing drivers to customize performance.
Support Services and Financing Available
International said it provides consulting services to help customers adopt the eRH. Services include infrastructure readiness planning, onboarding support, and grant assistance. The company also offers planned maintenance service contracts to manage operating, maintenance, and service needs.
International will begin series production of the eRH in the first half of 2026.
