Lucid Group has announced that it will acquire select Nikola facilities in Arizona to expand EV manufacturing growth. This agreement allows Lucid to acquire over 884,000 sq. ft. of Nikola’s real estate. With this deal, Lucid acquires Nikola facilities in both Coolidge and Phoenix. Lucid said this will advance its development, testing, and warehousing capabilities.
Lucid will offer employment to more than 300 former Nikola workers. The company plans to fill roles in manufacturing engineering, software, vehicle testing, warehouse support, and more. These new positions support Lucid’s strategy to increase production of the Gravity SUV and future midsize EVs.
Lucid Acquires Nikola Facilities Add State-of-the-Art Equipment
Lucid will take over the Coolidge plant and Phoenix development center. These buildings contain a full-size chassis dynamometer, battery testing chambers, machining equipment, and advanced warehousing space. Lucid said it acquires Nikola facilities that will significantly strengthen its infrastructure in the EV sector.
