Aero Corporation, a franchisee of the Avis and Budget brands, opened an EV charging station in Harrisburg, PA. The company developed the project with IMC Solar, LLC, MVE Group, SRE Energy, EO Charging, and Nayax. A grant from the Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance for Clean Transportation helped secure over $300,000 from the state of Pennsylvania.
Environmental Impact
“Our mission at DEP involves protecting clean air for the people of Pennsylvania. A big part of that is reducing the air pollution from cars and trucks. Projects like this make it easier for people to switch to an electric vehicle – cutting down on pollution,” said DEP Acting Secretary Jessica Shirley. “The Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program supports projects like this one to increase the availability of EV charging stations and other alternative fuel options for Pennsylvania drivers.”
Harrisburg EV Charging Station Offers 22 Chargers
The new Harrisburg EV charging station includes 12 Level-3 fast chargers with speeds up to 180kW. These complement 10 existing Level-2 and Level-3 chargers on-site, for a total of 22 EV chargers. This makes the Aero Corporation site the largest publicly accessible EV charging station in Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania.
Construction and Technology Partners Lead Project
IMC Solar developed the project, while SRE Energy handled construction. MVE Group ensured execution of the facility, which represents a key advancement in sustainable transportation. Pennsylvania continues to show leadership in clean energy and carbon emission reduction. EO Charging supplied the rapid chargers, and Nayax provided secure payment technology.
“We are proud to have collaborated with such a dynamic team in serving Aero’s mission to bring clean, sustainable charging options to Harrisburg and the surrounding community,” said Rick Frio, Managing Partner of IMC Solar, LLC. “This project supports the region’s growing EV infrastructure, but also represents a significant step towards a greener, more sustainable future.”
