AmpUp, an electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider based in Santa Clara, California, has collaborated with Tritium to enhance DC fast-charging infrastructure across North America.
This initiative is meant to simplify the process for existing Tritium RT50 owners to join the AmpUp EV charging network and access various upgrade options, the company said.
Network Integration of AmpUp EV Charging Solutions
The program offers a two-phase approach, allowing owners to choose the path best suited to their needs. The first phase focuses on integrating existing Tritium stations into the AmpUp network:
- Owners provide their Tritium charger’s serial number (AmpUp can assist with locating it) and give written approval for transfer.
- AmpUp handles the transfer of the station to the network at no charge.
- Owners receive options for their preferred cloud service.
- A minor cost may apply for labor associated with replacing the Tritium SIM card with an AmpUp-compatible one, if necessary. Ethernet-connected chargers won’t require this step.
Enhanced Capabilities
Phase Two offers an upgrade opportunity for existing RT50 owners. Owners can trade in their RT50 for a new 50kW DC fast charger with several advantages:
- Dual Charging: Power two EVs simultaneously, doubling charging capacity.
- Universal Compatibility: CCS and NACS cords allow charging of virtually any EV on the market.
- Warranty: Includes a 3-year parts warranty.
- Scalable Power: Upgradeable to 75kW for future-proofed performance.
- Sustainable Practices: AmpUp ensures responsible recycling of the RT50, minimizing environmental impact.
- Installation: The new RTM charger fits on the existing RT50 pad, minimizing disruption.
