CATL and DHL Group have signed a strategic agreement to strengthen their partnership in reducing greenhouse gas emissions at logistics parks. This collaboration advances their shared goal of promoting sustainable logistics worldwide, the companies said.
Under the agreement, CATL will provide advanced liquid cooling energy storage systems and energy management platforms to DHL’s logistics parks. By integrating battery swapping and superfast charging systems, CATL said its energy solutions will optimize energy use across DHL facilities. These efforts align with DHL’s sustainability goal of achieving net-zero emissions in logistics by 2050.
CATL will also explore advancements in electric vehicles, battery recycling, and end-of-life management. DHL’s global network of EV Centers of Excellence will support these initiatives, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to sustainable logistics.
Driving Sustainable Logistics Through Strategic Cooperation
“By combining DHL’s extensive logistics and operational expertise, and CATL’s innovative green technology, we are joining forces to deliver the trailblazing sustainable logistics solution to the industry,” said Libin Tan, co-president of sales and marketing of CATL. “Our strengthened cooperation with DHL will not only contribute to achieving both parties’ sustainability targets, but also facilitate the world towards to a greener future.”
“We’re excited to start using CATL’s energy solutions in our logistics parks, while providing our logistics services to CATL. This solution really highlights the great partnership and innovative spirit between our teams. It’s a perfect example of how we’re working together to achieve our shared goal of sustainability,” said Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain.
Scaling Carbon-Neutral Logistics With CATL and DHL
This agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding signed last year. It outlined global cooperation in carbon-neutral facilities and the electrification of DHL’s fleet for pick-up and delivery.
To support CATL’s goal of making technology accessible worldwide, DHL will serve as CATL’s preferred logistics service provider. DHL said it will facilitate integrated logistics solutions that further advance CATL and DHL sustainable logistics initiatives.
