Delta announced that its 500kW Ultra-Fast EV Charger UFC 500 Series earned German Eichrecht certification. This certification confirms that the charger meets Germany’s metrology standards, ensuring accurate energy measurement and transparent billing.

The Eichrecht certification verifies the tariff set by Charging Point Operators (CPOs) for credit card-based ad-hoc payment transactions. Customers can check their energy consumption and tariff data using S.A.F.E. e.V.’s transparency software, guaranteeing billing accuracy and compliance. By achieving this certification, Delta charging stations provide legal certainty for CPOs, ensuring they meet the German Weights and Measurement Act and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).

The Eichrecht standard requires CPOs to use certified EV chargers with calibrated energy metering systems to guarantee fair and precise billing. The UFC 500 enables legally compliant energy transactions, ensuring drivers pay only for the energy consumed.

Delta UFC 500 Delivers High-Performance Charging

The certification includes Module B approval for design and Module D approval for production, demonstrating the charger’s quality from concept to delivery.

According to Delta, the UFC 500 is a compact, high-performance DC charging station designed for speed and efficiency. It delivers up to 500kW of power to a single EV or 250kW simultaneously to two EVs. This meets the increasing demand for fast charging across passenger cars, trucks, and fleet vehicles.

Built for all-weather reliability, the IP55-certified UFC 500 provides durability in high-demand charging environments, Delta said. It integrates with existing networks, energy management systems, and backward-compatible setups.
