Dot Transportation (DTI), an affiliate of Dot Foods, has logged 30,000 hours with its first-deployed Orange EV electric truck. DTI’s first Orange EV terminal truck, deployed in 2018, has saved 45,000 gallons of diesel fuel, DTI said. It reduced CO₂ emissions by over 500 tons and lowered operating costs.
“We’re proud to reach this milestone with our electric terminal trucks,” said Kevin Buss, DTI Director of Fleet Maintenance. “The 30,000-hour mark proves the durability and reliability of Orange EV’s electric terminal trucks in our high-demand environments.”
Charging Infrastructure
DTI said it strategically placed charging stations to ensure high uptime. The company said this infrastructure enables continuous operation across multiple shifts without interruption. It helps maintain a dependable fleet while aligning with DTI’s efficiency and environmental goals.
“Dot Transportation has demonstrated what’s possible when a company prioritizes innovation in its fleet operations,” said Kurt Neutgens, President & CTO of Orange EV. “Now deployed for more than six years, DTI’s 30,000-hour truck is operating on its original battery pack as are all of the more than 1,300 trucks in Orange EV’s commercially deployed fleet.”
DTI Orange EV Electric Truck Expansion
DTI said it added three more electric terminal trucks to its fleet and plans to add four more Orange EV trucks in 2025 and expand its partnership with Orange EV.
