EVgo Inc. and General Motors (GM) have opened more than 2,000 public fast charging stalls. This collaboration has created charging locations in over 390 sites across 45 metropolitan markets in 32 states. The EVgo GM fast charging network focuses on providing charging in convenient places like grocery stores, retail centers, and city centers. These locations help customers who cannot charge at home or work.
Goal: 2,850 fast charging stalls nationwide
EVgo and GM aim to complete 2,850 DC fast charging stalls across the U.S. The expansion includes 400 public fast charging stalls at flagship destinations in major markets such as Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Texas. The companies opened their 1,000th stall in August 2023 in Woodbridge, Illinois. In less than a year, they doubled their EVgo GM fast charging network footprint.
New station in Murrieta, California
The 2,000th stall is part of a station with five 350kW fast chargers. This station serves up to 10 vehicles simultaneously and is located off Interstate 215 in Murrieta, California. Nearby amenities include retail shops, coffee houses, and restaurants. The site received funding from the California Energy Commission through its FAST program.
EVgo and GM leadership comments on milestone
