Autel Europe and CharIN co-hosted the MCS Controller Testival Europe 2025 at Autel’s Barcelona office from April 1–2. This event brought together global leaders to test and validate megawatt charging solutions for heavy-duty electric vehicles.
Industry Leaders Collaborate on Megawatt Charging Solutions
Autel said this first MCS Controller Testival united developers of Electric Vehicle Communication Controllers (EVCC) and Supply Equipment Communication Controllers (SECC). These participants evaluated and improved interoperability among MCS controllers. The initiative supports seamless integration of megawatt charging solutions into commercial fleets.
Live Testing Sessions and Interoperability Checks
Experts conducted real-time interoperability tests between EVCC and SECC controllers from different companies. The companies said these sessions verified electrical efficiency, thermal management, and mechanical compatibility. By validating these technologies, the event supported faster deployment of MCS infrastructure worldwide, the companies said.
“Hosting this event at our Autel Spain office reinforces our commitment to advancing high-power EV charging solutions,” said Andreas Lastei, VP Sales & Marketing at Autel Energy Europe. “We are taking a major step in shaping the future of megawatt charging for commercial and heavy-duty EVs.”
Shaping the Future of High-Power EV Charging
“The MCS Controller Testival is a crucial milestone in the development of megawatt charging technology,” added Michael Keller, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of CharIN e. V. and CEO of CharIN Academy. “Through hands-on interoperability testing, we are ensuring that the MCS standard meets the highest performance and reliability expectations required by the industry. So this will also lead to a broad usage in other industries such as marine, mining and aviation.”
Participating companies include Advantics, Autel, Bosch, BTC Power, Chargebyte, MAN, Keysight, Ekoenergetyka, Kempower, Power Electronics, Vector Informatik, and Watt & Well. Sponsors for the event include bp, Comemso, Milence, and Phoenix Contact.
