Kia on Friday announced pricing for the 2025 Niro Hybrid and Niro PHEV. An all-electric Niro EV will remain part of the lineup for 2025, but prices will be announced at a later date.
The Niro Hybrid starts at $28,365 in base LX form with the mandatory $1,375 destination charge, which is unchanged from the 2024 model year. That’s an increase of just $50 from 2024. The lineup once again includes EX ($31,165), EX Touring ($33,465), SX (34,365), and SX Touring ($35,390) grades in addition to the LX base model.

The Niro PHEV is available only in EX and SX Touring grades, priced at $35,865 and $42,165 with destination, respectively. The base price is just $100 higher than the 2024 model.
Minimal changes have been made for the 2025 model year. Rear seatbelt pretensioners are now standard on all grades, while SX Touring plug-in hybrids add a standard Cold Weather Package that includes heated rear seats and a positive temperature coefficient heater. These features are meant to keep occupants warm in cold temperatures while using less energy to preserve electric range.

2025 Kia Niro
Both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants use a 1.6-liter inline-4 and 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated electric motor. The Niro Hybrid is rated at 139 hp, while the Niro PHEV produces 180 hp thanks to a more powerful electric motor (both versions are rated at 195 lb-ft of torque). The Niro PHEV’s 11.1-kwh battery pack also allows for 33 miles of electric range, while the Niro Hybrid achieves up to 53 mpg combined.
The current-generation Niro arrived with the 2023 model year with unorthodox styling and better efficiency credentials. As a result, the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models give the Toyota Prius and Prius Prime, respectively, a run for their money. The Niro also serves as an entry point to a hybrid crossover lineup that also includes both hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the larger Sportage and Sorento, with a Carnival Hybrid minivan arriving for 2025 as well.
