Rivian’s whole shtick is adventure. That’s why it has a bunch of accessories in its online gear shop that go along nicely with the adventure-oriented R1S and R1T electric vehicles, including a rooftop tent that fits just right.
Well, now there are two rooftop tents available for the R1S and R1T because the California-based startup partnered with iKamper to bring a new hard-shell tent designed specifically for Rivian EVs.

Rivian x iKamper Skycamp Mini
It’s called the Rivian x iKamper Skycamp Mini. As its name suggests, it’s merely a variation of the Skicamp Mini that fits on just about any vehicle out there. However, the collaboration between the two companies resulted in a special edition model that features locking mounting brackets compatible with Rivian’s Adventure Key Set and blacked-out hardware.
An aerodynamic hard shell is also part of the package, as well as iKamper’s “most deluxe” mattress that’s half-inflatable and half-foam. The tent itself is made from PFAS-free materials, i.e., without long-lasting chemicals that may affect your health in the long run. Rivian-style yellow accent stitching is also there, to make the tent blend in better with the car that it’s sitting on.
The Rivian-exclusive Skycamp Mini sleeps up to two people and is marketed as being fit for all four seasons thanks to protection from rain, wind and UV exposure. That said, an optional winter insulation kit is also available. It weighs 137 pounds (61.8 kilograms) and can be put up in just one minute, according to iKamper. It’s compact enough to fit over the R1S’s bed, but it can also be placed on the roof of the R1S or R1T.

The Rivian x iKamper Skycamp Mini retails for $4,595 on iKamper’s website. Additionally, the company will throw in a free Disco Series Stove System if you order the rooftop tent by April 15. The stove retails for $515.
It’s worth noting that Rivian’s Cargo Crossbars are required to fit the rooftop tent, and a pair of those will set you back another $800. The Adventure Key Set is also sold separately for $65. By comparison, the three-person tent developed by Yakima and Rivian for the R1S costs $2,800, but it doesn’t have a hard shell.
