- The 2026 GMC Sierra EV will now appeal to a broader EV truck-buying audience thanks to more trims and a lower starting price.
- General Motors has introduced two new trims: AT4 and Elevation. There’s also an entry-level Standard battery option.
- The current Sierra EV Denali is expensive, stretching above $100,000 with the Max Range battery. The MY2026 trims bring the price down considerably.
General Motors’ EV assault is showing no signs of slowing down.
When GM started delivering the 2025 Sierra EV late last year, it only offered the Denali trim with two battery options, the 390-mile Extended Range and 460-mile Max Range. It also had an eye-watering starting price stretching above $100,000. Now GM has launched two new affordable trims, introduced more battery options and made the Denali cheaper. It may now appeal to a much wider audience.
The two new trims are the base Elevation and the off-road focused AT4. The Elevation will be available with the Extended Range battery and a new Standard Range pack. The AT4 will be available in Extended Range and Max Range options. Denali will be available with all three options: Standard, Extended Range and Max. Range estimates for all the trims will be revealed closer to launch. (GM doesn’t release battery sizes but we know that the Max pack is similar to that of the Hummer EV, with over 200 kilowatt-hours of capacity.)

The Elevation with the Standard battery costs $64,495 with destination, making it nearly $15,000 cheaper than the base Tesla Cybertruck. The Extended Range pack bumps the price up to $72,695.
The AT4 with the Extended Range pack starts at $81,395 and $91,695 with the Max pack. Thanks to the new smaller Standard Range battery, the fully decked-out Denali now starts at $71,795. Even its Extended Range trim is now roughly $10,000 cheaper, starting at $80,000.
Here’s the full pricing of the 2026 GMC Sierra EV:
2026 GMC Sierra EV trims | Price (Including $2,095 destination) |
Elevation (Standard Range) | $64,495 |
Elevation (Extended Range) | $72,695 |
AT4 (Extended Range) | $81,395 |
AT4 (Max Range) | $91,695 |
Denali (Standard Range) | $71,795 |
Denali (Extended Range) | $79,995 |
Denali (Max Range) | $100,695 |
“With these additional trims and customer options, the Sierra EV is positioned right in the heart of the premium truck market,” Jaclyn McQuaid, global VP of Buick GMC said in a statement.
The AT4 gets two inches of extra ground clearance, which should increase its normal ride height to 11 inches. It will also get the rear-axle steering, Crab Walk and a maximum towing capacity of 12,300 pounds, which is roughly 2,000 lbs more than the Denali.
The Elevation is watered down and road-focused, but still seems decently equipped. It won’t get rear-axle steering and Crab Walk (who uses that, anyway?) but will feature other goodies like the large 16.8-inch touchscreen and powered frunk.
The electric truck market hasn’t really taken off because the options are limited and expensive. The range penalty while towing and hauling also tends to keep traditional truck buyers from upgrading to electric trucks. But the Sierra EV seems to be moving forward in the right direction and should now appeal to a wider audience. Its deliveries are expected to begin this summer.
